You've seen them in restaurants and theaters--those tubes full of lights proprietors use to mark stair edges and other potential hazards that might be fallen down or tripped over in dim light. That's not to say that Good Earth Lighting's rope lighting products can only be used in public venues--you could use them as funky accent lighting in a living room, party lighting, or to outline a path in your backyard.

The key to using these lights to full effect is mounting them securely, and everything you need in order to do this is included in the hardware kit, which contains mounting clips, cable ties, and screws. The lights themselves are extremely long-lasting--they're rated at 35,000 hours, and the heavy-duty PVC rope is an unobtrusive 3/8-inch in diameter. For longer runs, you can easily connect one set to another (up to 330 feet maximum).

The G9548CLR-I is 48 feet long, and operates at 120 volts. If you need more length per set, see the 6-, 12-, and 24-foot models (#G9506CLR-I, #G9512CLR-I, #G9524CLR-I). Note that these lights will heat up when in use--they should not be left on unattended. UL listed.--Josh Dettweiler

"Be prepared to return it a few times" 2010-05-17

The rope has a few broken bulbs and a 5-6 foot section that is completely dead. It sounds like this is pretty common. For the price, its barely worth the harassement of paying for shipping back since the rope is fairly heavy. Save your time and money and buy a higher quality rope-light.

 "Great value" 2010-04-16

I was very happy with this purchase and would not hesitate to purchase these rope lights again. The quality is very high for the light itself although the clips that come with it for my purposes were too flimsy so we used our own. We used the rope light for the face of a stage and over a stage area. Delivery was quite fast and you can't beat this price anywhere. I tried.

Nice job.

 "Super durable, Great price" 2010-03-08

I bought two strands of 48 feet and attached them together(very easy). Bought my own fixtures to hold them in place, used clips made to hold down office wires. These lights have lined the area around my businesses outdoor hot tub and sauna area for about two years. They are kicked, and sometimes stepped on and have stood up to the outdoor shower use(they line the floor of the shower). I am still very pleased with the amount of light they emit, I haven't noticed that any of the bulbs have died out. I'm back to buy more for the decks and parking area...great product!

 "Great lights!" 2010-02-03

I agree with those who say the mounting clips included are bad. This is not a problem for the first year. After that if installed where exposed to the elements, they tend to become brittle and will break which then creates a domino effect, where your lighting will cascade to the ground clip by failing clip. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with the included mounting hardware. Go to Lowe's, in the cable/electrical section look for 7/16 Plastic Cable staples made by "Ideal". They can be installed with a small hammer. The lights themselves lasted approximately five years of nightly use. They are NOT L.E.D but then again they DO give off a soft amber-ish light which is perfect if you don't want the garish white L.E.D.'s put out.
